Vicomte 8 Year Single Malt French Whiskey - 750ml

Vicomte is a word much similar to the English Viscount – a resignation of nobility and status, that now indicates quality and good taste. This fantastic single malt whisky is made in France strictly using 100% organic barley grown in the Poitou-Charentes region. The spirit is distilled in traditional copper pot stills, yet the real flourish with this dram comes with the aging process. The whisky is aged for 8 years in French Oak Limousin casks which previously held Cognac. This produces an incredible whisky, with real complexity and depth. It helps that this is one of the nicest looking bottles we’ve had on our shelves! On the nose this whisky opens with lovely aromas of apricot, over ripe banana, burnt sugar, honey, vanilla, wood spice, caramel, orange rind, lemon, and cream. The palate is rich with fresh citrus juice, grapes, milk chocolate, brown sugar, liquorice, orange zest, toffee apple, figs and prunes. The finish mild yet long, with a wonderful grapey toasted oak and burnt brown sugar. A fantastic whisky, really rich and decadent.
