Old Smuggler is a blended Scotch Whisky with a history that goes back to 1835. Its fine, smooth taste is due to its being specially blended from the finest of Scotch whiskies in the tradition of 18th century Smugglers who risked their life and honour to share its taste with their loyal customers throughout the islands. Old Smuggler is best enjoyed neat, over ice, with natural mineral water, or mixed with cola for a long drink.
The initial whiffs find soft, biscuit and sugar-cookie scents; aeration adds deeper aromas of cereal, honey, yeast and light caramel. Fat and creamy at palate entry, then toffee on the midpalate. Finishes up mildly spicy and oaky. A terrific bargain that first became fashionable during Prohibition.
